We're fond of every kind of lip balm! We own more than 50 (!) of them and everytime we get to know that a new lip balm is on the market, we know we have to make it ours! It's something we just can't help it! We 'met' kiyoko on Instagram. Its minimalistic package and its 100% natural origin made us want to dedicate an article on our blog and spread the word!
Kiyoko lip balm is an idea of two young enterpreneurs, Evelien Emondts and Merel Groenenboom, who missed a lip balm that was both attractive and of 100% natural origin. So they decided to create their own. Kiyoko lip balm is based on ingredients of 100% natural origin and produced in a small factory in the Netherlands that is specialized in organic cosmetics. The lip balm is available online and in selected stores.
Story. Kiyoko originates from the ambition to chase dreams. In that spirit the founders of kiyoko swopped their lives in Amsterdam for a long trip abroad. This brought along risks, but both did what they really wanted - the ultimate feeling of freedom and proof that you can always reach the goals you are chasing. This vision resulted in a business plan for kiyoko: a product that arose from the urge to be an enterpreneur and take risks. Travelling stayed an important theme in developing the product and brand: the brand name and most important ingredient are japanese for a reason: the founders are very inspired by japanese culture and Tokyo is their next level destination.
Product. Kiyoko contains ingredients such as cacao butter, vitamin e, honey and japanese wax - the recipe has been developped especially for kiyoko. While creating the lip balm were several factors of importance, such as hydration, softening effect, no color and minimal fragrance and taste. According to the creators of kiyoko, a perfect product is however more than the right combination of egredients: the design is just as important. Therefore just as much attention as has been paid to the packaging and corporate design: the logo, label and tube of kiyoko are clean. Just like the balm: no extras are needed and quality is of the biggest importance.
